Final Print Edition of Iris Available at April 19 Release Party

April 12, 2012 — To celebrate the spring issue of Iris: A Magazine for Thinking Young Women – and the last print edition of the magazine, which henceforth will only be published online – the University of Virginia Women's Center will host a literary soirée on April 19 from 5 to 6:15 p.m. at the center.

At the event, free and open to the public, Iris editor and author Virginia Moran will read from her newly published novel, "The Algebra of Snow." Copies of Iris will be available, as well as refreshments.

Moran holds a Ph.D. in literature and creative writing from the University of Houston, and bachelor's and master's degrees in English from U.Va. She has published in Salon.com, Oxford American, the Virginia Quarterly Review and Feminist Studies, among other journals and magazines. "The Algebra of Snow" was nominated for a Pushcart Editor's Choice Award.
