Gov. Kaine to Hold Press Conference at Nursing School on Feb. 28

Fb. 26, 2007 -- Virginia Governor Timothy Kaine will hold a press conference at the University of Virginia School of Nursing on Wednesday, Feb. 28, from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. The Governor will discuss legislation and appropriations for programs to support initiatives for nursing students and nursing faculty that will address both nursing and nursing faculty shortages in the commonwealth. Kaine's remarks will follow a tour and demonstration of the school's state-of-the-art simulation lab. The media are invited to attend the demonstration. 

In addition to Kaine's announcement, University Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Leonard W. Sandridge and School of Nursing Dean Jeanette Lancaster will provide introductions and comments. Lancaster was recently appointed to the Virginia Healthcare Workforce Taskforce, where she is working to forge public and private partnerships to support nursing and nursing faculty education issues in the commonwealth. 

Invited area legislators also will be in attendance.
