An Intimate Conversation Between Governor Gerald Baliles and Secretary John Snow

May 23, 2008 — Rising gas and food prices, the credit crunch, and a roiled stock market have recently gotten the attention of most Americans, but few of us are able to fully understand the complex economic interactions that reverberate around the globe.

Former U.S. Treasury Secretary John W. Snow has seen these emerging challenges from various perspectives, making him uniquely qualified to understand how the international economic landscape intersects with our daily lives. Having served as the 73rd Secretary of the U.S. Treasury Department, Snow is now the chairman of Cerberus Capital Management, one of the world's leading private investment firms. Snow's significant service in both the public and private sector make his voice an important one on some of the most pressing economic issues of the day.

You are invited to join the Miller Center of Public Affairs for an intimate conversation between Snow and former Virginia Gov. Gerald Baliles, director of the Miller Center, on Thursday, May 29 at 1:30 p.m. in the center's Forum Room. The event will include a significant press announcement on a major upcoming event for the University.

Seating for this special event is very limited. RSVP to Marcus Ingram at marcusingram@virginia.edu by Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at 5 p.m.
