Join ‘Dialogue Across UVA’ by Sept. 21

Faculty, staff and students interested in meeting with diverse members of the University of Virginia community to discuss important issues have the opportunity to join Dialogue Across UVA this fall.

The initiative started in 2010 to bring together diverse groups of people who wouldn’t necessarily know each other in order to explore issues that shape or impact the community. More than 200 participants have joined groups since then, and the organizers hope to continue expanding the scale and scope of the project this semester.

Led by trained facilitators, the dialogue groups will meet for five biweekly sessions, beginning the week of Oct. 1. Each group will focus on one of the following topics: University governance; power, privilege and perception; identity in community; and U.Va.-Charlottesville relations.

Register to participate by Sept. 21, indicating preferred meeting time and topic. Space is limited. Those interested in joining a group should plan to attend all five dialogues.
