August 24, 2011 — Alleys along the University of Virginia's West Range will close temporarily as work continues on a retaining wall and drainage project.

Mews and Patterson alleys will be closed from 7 a.m. on Aug. 29 to 3 p.m. on Aug. 31, and Poe and Colonnade alleys will be closed from 7 a.m. on Sept. 6 to 3 p.m. on Sept. 8.

The alleys will be closed to install new concrete curbs and sub-slabs for the new sidewalks and to allow the concrete to fully cure. Those who hold permits to park their vehicles in those alleys will need to vacate their spaces by 6:45 on the mornings of the closures; temporary parking is being arranged with Parking and Transportation.
