September 10, 2008 — The University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce will hold an opening reception for its exhibit, "Artography," Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Connaughton Gallery of Rouss and Robertson halls.

The exhibit features recent works by North Carolina artist Linda Lauby. Lauby is primarily a painter, illustrator and printmaker, but began working in "artography" only last year. In her work, photographs are digitally enhanced and layered; in some instances, up to 20 different photos have been combined to create one composite image. Composites are printed on art canvas using archival inks. Once printed, many canvases are then individually embossed on an artist's etching press, making them truly one-of-a-kind pieces.

The exhibit runs through Oct. 6. For information, contact Lynn Anderson at 804-357-2624.
