Navy Cmdr. Angus Macaulay died Jan. 31 in Charlottesville. He was 85.
After a career in the U.S. Navy, Macaulay’s last assignment was with the Navy ROTC unit at the University of Virginia. During his tour at U.Va., he earned a master’s degree in foreign affairs. Following retirement from teaching in June 1971, Macaulay worked for the University of Virginia Alumni Association until retiring in 1993.
Macaulay was a member of the Raven Society and a member of the board of the Charlottesville & University Symphony Orchestra for many years.
