February 4, 2011 — James Ross Beazell died Jan. 20 in Charlottesville. He was 59. Beazell came to Charlottesville in 1998 and was a physical therapist, site coordinator and residency director at the Musculoskeletal Center at the University of Virginia-HealthSouth outpatient clinic.
He worked for HealthSouth in California for more than 20 years before transferring to Charlottesville with his wife and family. He received the HealthSouth Clinician of the Year Award in 2003.
At the U.Va.-HealthSouth clinic, Beazell founded the Orthopedic Manual Therapy Seminars in 2002 and taught in the program from 2002 until 2010.
