In Memoriam: Marjorie R. Crispell

December 8, 2010 – Marjorie R. Crispell, 91, died in Charlottesville on Nov. 28. She and her husband, the late Dr. Kenneth Crispell, a University of Virginia faculty member for 45 years, lived in Pavilion I on the Lawn for 22 years. 

Marge Crispell was born in Spring Lake, Mich., and graduated from the University of Michigan, where she met her husband. She is survived by four daughters, a sister, 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and two children, Connie and John Crispell.

Kenneth Crispell, a former dean of the U.Va. medical school and an authority on American presidents' health and illnesses, died in 1996. He retired from U.Va. in 1987 after 10 years as University Professor of Medicine and Law  and after 45 years on the faculty, during which he was also a professor of medicine and the University's vice president for health sciences.
