April 16, 2009 — Former University of Virginia law professor Peter Clark Manson, 91, died April 12 in Charlottesville.
After a 10-year career in the Army's Judge Advocate General's Corps, Manson retired from the Army and accepted an invitation from the University of Virginia in 1960 to join the Law School faculty, where he taught criminal law and procedure and professional ethics. In addition, he served as the first director for Continuing Legal Education of the Virginia State Bar. After 27 years, Manson retired from the Law School in 1987 as a professor emeritus.
