In Memoriam: Prewitt Semmes Jr.

January 19, 2011 – Prewitt Semmes Jr. died in Charlottesville Dec. 27. Semmes served as the executive director of the University of Virginia's Medical School Foundation and the Medical Alumni Association from 1995 until 2007. He was also actively involved with the University's Comprehensive Cancer Center as well as with the development of the Department of Palliative Care. He attended the University, graduating in 1950.
