News in Brief: UVA Women’s Club Swim Secures First Place in 2024 National Championship

For the third consecutive year, the women’s team of Club Swim at the University of Virginia placed first in the College Club Swimming National Championship on Sunday. 

Hosted by Indiana University, the three-day meet saw impressive performances from Club Swim at UVA, including team-record-breaking performances and individual national championships. 

Several Hoos left Indianapolis as national champions, including Anna Sheng, Lizzy Miller, Marissa Ross, Mia Leget, Gabriela Belsol, Alexa Owen, Ciara Graves, Marlee Reinhard and Emmett Hannam. 

The women’s team accumulated 837 points, 250 points ahead of the runner-up, Michigan Club Swimming. Out of the 129 competing teams, men’s and women’s, Club Swim at UVA placed second overall with a combined score of 1,103 points. 

The College Club Swimming National Championship meet came just two weeks after the UVA’s Women’s Varsity Swimming and Diving team secured its fourth consecutive championship title in the NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving Championships.
