Nominations Sought for Leadership Strategies Program

October 22, 2008 — Nominations are being accepted until Oct. 30 for the Leadership Strategies Program, offered by the University of Virginia's Leadership Development Center.

The Leadership Strategies Program focuses on identifying and developing effective leadership practices through in-depth self-assessment. Topics include leadership and values, vision and planning, leading change, teamwork, collaboration, communication, conflict, coaching and developing others and career development.

Designed for those with leadership experience of individuals or work groups, Leadership Strategies is open to those who have worked at U.Va. for at least two years. Exceptions are granted on a case-by-case basis. Applicants must be officially nominated by their supervisor or department head.

Benefits-eligible University employees are encouraged to consult with their Human Resources Office to determine if they are eligible to apply the new $2,000 education benefit toward the $500 nominated registration fee.
