Susan Davis, senior associate vice president for student affairs at the University of Virginia, has been selected as the vice president for student affairs for Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. She will depart in late February.
Davis began her time with UVA in 1999 as associate general counsel and special assistant attorney general. In 2004, she transitioned to student affairs, where she served as a special adviser and liaison to the general counsel, then as assistant vice president and acting vice president before moving into her current role in 2021.
During her time with the general counsel and student affairs offices, Davis faced countless challenges and opportunities. From championing student health and wellness, to maintaining and supporting UVA’s long-held tradition of student self-governance, to safely managing and monitoring student life during the COVID-19 pandemic, her work to help students feel welcome and safe at UVA has been a highlight of her career, she said.
