As night fell Monday, and as thousands of students gathered on the University of Virginia’s Lawn to remember three football players slain in a shooting, colleges and universities across the state bathed their buildings in blue and orange in solidarity with the Wahoos.

James Madison University illuminated Woodrow Wilson Hall in Cavalier colors and sent “love and care to our friends and colleagues across the mountain.”

At Liberty University, blue and orange lights transformed Freedom Tower into a memorial to mark the tragedy in Charlottesville. “We are with you, Hoos,” read a message on the school’s Instagram.

Students at Washington & Lee University gathered for a candlelight vigil for UVA to “honor not only the lives lost, but also the pain that you are going through.”

And in Williamsburg, the College of William & Mary brightened its historic walls with UVA’s trademark palette, writing, “Tonight we are all Hoos.”

In Blacksburg, Virginia Tech noted the sunset behind Burruss Hall showed a sky in shades of orange and blue, adding the hashtag HokiesForHoos.
