University Community Encouraged to Attend Town Hall Meetings Today, Thurs.

Sept. 25, 2007 -- Come one, come all! University of Virginia faculty and staff are invited to attend the Town Hall Meetings taking place today and Thursday, to discuss the results from University Human Resources’ recent restructuring survey. The three one-hour meetings take place at the following times and locations:

• Today, 2:30-3:30 p.m., Newcomb Hall Ballroom

• Thursday, 10-11 a.m., Newcomb Hall Ballroom

• Thursday, 2:30-3:30 p.m., Facilities lunchroom

Attendance is considered time worked.

"This survey was one of the first opportunities that all staff and supervisors had to give feedback to UHR on the HR systems and processes likely to be changed under restructuring," said Susan Carkeek, vice president of human resources. "I appreciate people's honesty and the time they took to complete the survey. Their comments will help define our direction as we move forward."

All three meetings will include introductory remarks by Leonard Sandridge, executive vice president and chief operating officer, followed by a brief presentation by Colette Sheehy, vice president for management and budget, on changes made Universitywide since restructuring began. Susan Carkeek will then present highlights from the survey results and discuss next steps. A portion of each hour has been set aside for audience questions.
