April 24, 2009 — Earl Mark, associate professor and chief technology officer in the University of Virginia School of Architecture, has been named Educator of the Year in the 2009 "Be Inspired" awards program, sponsored by software developer Bentley Systems.
Following a nomination process, entrants submitted a portfolio, which was subjected to competitive review by an independent jury of academics and practitioners from the disciplines of architecture and engineering. The field of nominees was drawn from higher educational institutions internationally. The award will be conferred at a banquet to be held in September.
