January 11, 2006 — The University of Virginia Art Museum invites community members to become museum docents. Orientation for the new docent training program is Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 6 p.m. in the museum.

New docents attend a weekly training program, presented by Marilyn Mars, the museum’s docent program consultant, and join the docent corps in monthly education sessions. Once trained, docents give a range of tours to visiting groups, from K-12 students to life-long learners.
