December 18, 2009 — The University of Virginia Art Museum will be closed Dec. 24 and 25 and Jan. 4-15.
Three exhibits will close Jan. 3: "Thomas Jefferson's Academical Village: the Creation of an Architectural Masterpiece," "The Expanding Eye: Art Inspired by Edgar Allan Poe" and "Abstract Photography: Selections from Glenstone."
The museum will reopen Jan. 16 with the special exhibition "Treasures Rediscovered: Chinese Stone Sculpture from the Sackler Collections at Columbia University."
The museum is open to the public Tuesdays through Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. Admission is free. For information, visit here.
