U.Va. Art Museum Hosts First of Four Annual Lectures on South and East Asian Art

Sept. 25, 2007 -- Roderick Whitfield will present a lecture at the University Art Museum on Sept. 27 at 5:30 p.m. titled, “Poet Prince and River Nymph: The Luoshenfu Scrolls in London and Peking,” which is the first of the Ellen Bayard Weedon Lectures in the Arts of Asia for this year. Whitfield, a specialist in Central Asian, Chinese, Korean and Buddhist art, is an emeritus professor in the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London.

This lecture is presented through the support of the Ellen Bayard Weedon Foundation.

The museum is located at 155 Rugby Road. Admission is free, and parking is available in the A6 parking lot on Rugby Road, across the street from the museum.
