U.Va. Art Museum Student Docents Offer Saturday Tours

Feb. 8, 2007 -- The University of Virginia Art Museum's Student Docents have instituted an exciting new program —free tours of the museum between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturdays through the remainder of the spring semester except March 3 and 10 during spring break.

"These tours provide a wonderful opportunity for the museum's student docents to connect with their peers outside of the classroom and to share the museum as a resource for student interaction and cultural experiences," said Margaret Yarbrough, coordinator of the student docent program and a graduate student in the Curry School of Education.

All visitors, in addition to U.Va. students, are welcome to participate in these free tours, which invite participants to ask questions and discuss the works of art on view.

For more information please call the museum's education department at (434) 243-2050.
