U.Va. Engineering School Energy Symposium Focuses on Oil, Gas Industry

Oct. 22, 2007 — Rayola Dougher, senior economic analyst for the American Petroleum Institute, and Janice Menke, senior reservoir engineer for ConocoPhillips, will present a lecture titled “Technological Advancements and Career Opportunities in the Oil and Natural Gas Industry” on Friday, Oct. 26, at 2 p.m. in Room 205 of the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.

The lecture is the second presentation in “The Future is Now: Perspectives on Global Energy Issues,” a new lecture series hosted by the University of Virginia School of Engineering and Applied Science.

An exhibit will complement the lecture  and will be on display in the Wilsdorf Hall Atrium, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 26

The new series is designed to lead U.Va.’s efforts to engage in energy issues of national and global proportions. The final lecture in the series will be on Nov. 29 and features Robert Hirsch, senior energy program adviser for Science Applications International Corporation.
