U.Va. to Host Annual Legislative Forum on Dec. 20

Dec. 11, 2007 — Five area legislators will share their views about issues in the upcoming 2008 General Assembly during an annual legislative forum, scheduled for Dec. 20 at noon in the University of Virginia’s Newcomb Hall Ballroom.

The future of higher education, the health care system and other state and local community issues are among the topics expected to be discussed. There will be time for questions and comments.

Featured legislators at the forum will be Sen. Creigh Deeds (D-25th  District) of Bath, Sen. Emmett W. Hanger Jr. (R-24th District) of Augusta, Del. Rob B. Bell III (R-58th District) of Charlottesville, Del. R. Steven Landes (R-25th District) of Weyers Cave and Del. David Toscano (D-57th District) of Charlottesville.

University President John T. Casteen III will introduce and moderate the forum, sponsored by the Office of State Governmental Relations.
