U.Va. Physics Department To Host National Physics Day Show on April 25

April 18, 2012 — The Department of Physics in the University of Virginia's College of Arts & Sciences will host its annual National Physics Day Show on April 25 at 7 p.m. in room 203 of the Physics Building, located at 382 McCormick Road.
 
Physics professors Bob Hirosky, Nilanga Liyanage, Stefan Baessler and Bellave Shivaram will entertain with strange and mystifying presentations designed for the general public. Discover the peculiar properties of sound waves and learn how electricity powers our homes. Be sure to watch for falling objects as there will be plenty of surprises in store, and much to learn about how our amazing universe works.
 
Parking is available in the Central Grounds Parking Garage on Emmet Street and, after 5 p.m., in the Scott Stadium lots.
