U.Va. Roundtable Thursday to Focus on U.S. Relationship with Russia

The University of Virginia’s Center for Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies will sponsor a roundtable discussion on “Understanding the U.S. Relationship with Russia, the Caucasus and Central Asia” at Nau Hall, room 101, on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Among the participants will be Richard Mills, former ambassador to Azerbaijan, Bulgaria and Georgia; Chris Mizelle, a 2002 U.Va. graduate with a Ph.D. in history and former director for Russia at the National Security Council; Eugene Rumer, national information officer for Russia and Eurasia for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence; and Lynne Tracy, deputy assistant secretary for Central Asia, U.S. State Department.

Allen C. Lynch, a politics professor in the College of Arts & Sciences, will moderate the discussion.

The event is funded by a grant from the Jefferson Trust.
