U.Va. Studio Art Fourth- and Fifth-Year Students To Exhibit Works

April 11, 2012 — Fourth- and fifth-year studio art students at the University of Virginia will exhibit their works in Ruffin Hall in five rotating exhibits through May 11.

Friday-evening receptions will be held April 13, 20 and 27 and May 4 and 11, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The exhibits will include work from printmakers, sculptors, cinematographers, painters, photographers and artists working in new media, all from the McIntire Department of Art in U.Va.'s College of Arts & Sciences.

The first round of exhibits runs through Friday. The exhibits include work by Hannah Barefoot and Elizabeth Webb in Ruffin Gallery; Julia Grace Sharpe on the third floor; Ashley Parsley on the second floor; Martie Kuzzy, Hanna Oh and Damilola A. Orikogbo on the first floor with work by Oh in room 104; and a film screening by Sharpe in room 103, on April 13 during the reception.

From April 16 through April 20, Abby Ciucias and Elizabeth Hogeman will exhibit their work in Ruffin Gallery; Anne Seton Easby-Smith on the third floor; Mary Louise Enright and Margaret Montague on the second floor; and Olivia J. Kiers and Jada Christina Zajur on the first floor with work by Meredith McKee in room 104.

Work by Denise Paik and Andrew Salmon will be on view April 23 through 27 in Ruffin Gallery. Camillie Danvers will exhibit on the third floor; Chloe Skye Delaney and Ashley Mathieu on the second floor; and Marie Bergeron, Robert Holden, Erin Rogers and Rachel Weinstein on the first floor. Holden will screen his film in room 103 during the closing reception on April 27.

From April 30 through May 4, Bena Dam and Priscilla Goh will exhibit their work in Ruffin Gallery. Noaa Spiekermann's work will be on view on the third floor. Yee-Wen Huang's work will be shown on the second floor. Work by Devon Alexandra Grimes, Sophie Lee, Cara Linnenkohl and Clare McCormick will be exhibited on the first floor, with an exhibit by Kelly Malacarne in room 104. A film by Priscilla Shu Xian Goh will be shown in room 103 during the May 4 reception.

The exhibition schedule closes with exhibits May 7 through 11. Tucker Shelton and Taka Suzuki will show their work in Ruffin Gallery. Ryana Aryelle Burrell will exhibit her work on the third floor, with work by Reza Kabir and Kaitlin Williams on view on the second floor. Work by Trenley Anderson, Abigail Skolits and Johanna Valentine will be on display on the first floor and Campbell White will exhibit in room 104. Lauren Chilton's film will be screened in room 103 during the May 11 reception.
