Carl Zeithaml will step down from his position of dean of the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce in May. UVA announced his upcoming departure on Tuesday. He has been dean since 1997.
Universities offer grants and awards for students, faculty, and alumni, as well as resources that startups could otherwise only dream of. But universities are doing more than just giving out prizes for pitches -- many of them offer full-fledged startup support. The University of Virginia’s iLab, for example, provides direct grants, mentorship, an incubator, and even co-working spaces.

Next week, UVA’s Contemplative Sciences Center will host young leaders from nearly two dozen countries as part of the 2019 Dalai Lama Fellows Contemplative Leadership Assembly.
