A $25 million gift to the University of Virginia will help merge business with medical science and health care, school officials announced Tuesday. The gift from the Chris and Carrie Shumway Foundation will be combined with $3.5 million from UVA’s strategic investment fund to create a bioscience business program. The program will be a partnership of the McIntire School of Commerce and the School of Medicine, said UVA President Jim Ryan.
