In the wake of another massacre, American voters today support 95 - 4 percent, including 94 - 5 percent among voters in households where there is a gun, universal background checks for gun purchases, according to a Quinnipiac University national poll released today. The totals are in, and the Virginia Film Festival had a total of 44 sold-out screenings. According to the festival, a cumulative 30,197 total tickets were issued for free and paid events. Ticket sale revenue took in $187,178.
The 2017 Virginia Film Festival saw lower ticket sales and freezing weather, but Jody Kielbasa, director of the festival, said he’s still encouraged by the event’s benefit to downtown businesses and its ability to illuminate diverse topics.
