Albemarle County’s development areas have enough capacity for future expected population growth –a in theory. County staff presented a draft growth management report to the Albemarle’s Planning Commission on Tuesday, which included an update of the county’s residential capacity analysis, information on development trends, current development activity and individual development area profiles. Award-winning actor, writer and director Ethan Hawke will visit Charlottesville in October for the 32nd annual Virginia Film Festival, according to a lineup announced Tuesday. Hawke will participate in a conversation about his career before a screening of “Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead,” in which he co-stars opposite Philip Seymour Hoffman. Hawke is just one of a long list of notable guests who will attend the festival to discuss their work and introduce screenings of critically acclaimed films.

Experts from the integrated Translational Health Research Institute of Virginia discussed their most recent research topics such as the role of sleep in Alzheimer’s and understanding sudden unexpected death from epilepsy.

The Virginia Cavaliers also have a proud reputation for being a prestigious collegiate soccer program in the US. In the last couple of decades, the Cavaliers have provided the foundation for the professional careers of several key members of the U.S. national team, namely Claudio Reyna, John Harkes and Chris Albright. The Cavaliers won the national championship as recently as 2014, underlining their continued success in bringing through North American soccer talent.
