While physicians routinely prescribe statin therapy combined with ezetimibe for some patients with high cholesterol, a study by University of Virginia Health System researchers adds to mounting evidence that ezetimibe may not stop significant artery wall thickening, or atherosclerosis, in some patients.

Nine years ago, junior striker Alecko Eskandarian decided to forgo his senior year at Virginia to pursue a professional career in the MLS. The move paid off, and he was selected as the overall No. 1 pick of the MLS draft in 2002 by DC United. The University of Virginia's endowment and other associated money has regained the roughly $1.5 billion it lost when the economy crashed. The University of Virginia Investment Management Company, which manages the university's endowment and money belonging to affiliated foundations, is currently in charge of $5.24 billion, roughly equal to the $5.25 billion it managed as of May 2008.
Students aren't the only ones that look forward to commencement weekend at the University of Virginia. Businesses on the corner say it's one of their busiest times of year.
University of Virginia alumnus J. Brady Lum told prospective graduates Saturday that sometimes it's good to just say yes. Lum, president and chief operating officer of the Special Olympics and a 1989 graduate of UVa's College of Arts and Sciences, gave the valedictory address to more than 100 graduates and their families on Saturday.
