Hundreds of students built shoe box-sized cars for a competition in Charlottesville as part of a Chemical Engineering Regional Conference. The University of Virginia's chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers held a "Chem-E-Car" contest at Memorial Gym. Students and staff from more than 20 schools had to build a car powered by a chemical reaction.
