Researchers at The University of Virginia are trying to figure out how a single tick bite can cause people to suddenly develop an allergy to red meat.
Nearly 500 school officials from across Virginia are expected to attend a conference on bullying prevention next week. University of Virginia clinical psychologist Dewey Cornell says the conference also will cover legal and practical issues for schools.

In a randomized trial conducted at U.Va. and seven other sites throughout the country, 140 methamphetamine addicts were given either the drug topiramate or a placebo.
