A Greene County principal is back from a trip to India and sharing his experiences. William Monroe Middle School Principal Kyle Pursel was chosen by the Curry School at the University of Virginia to go to Delhi for a conference of principals. Pursel was struck by how much more responsibility principals in India have, and came back appreciating what he has here.
High school seniors from all over the country are at the University of Virginia for the Leadership Education and Development program with the Darden School. The three week course is business boot camp where students take classes with Darden professors. This year's focus is social media; students are building websites and consulting with entrepreneurs.
More than 50 Albemarle County students are in a boot camp of sorts for the next two weeks. It is called the M3 Algebra Readiness Program, and it is geared towards preparing black male students in Albemarle to succeed in upper level math. ...
