Staff and students emptied two student dorm dumpsters in front of Old Cabell Hall to find out how much of the trash could have been recycled. About half of what they found in the dumpsters could have been recycled. Campus Recycling held the event to get students thinking about what they throw away. They are also encouraging students to recycle bottles and newspapers they normally leave behind in class.
