A new study gives elementary school teachers a low grade when it comes to teaching. The study was published in the March 30th issue of Science magazine. Researchers warn that relying on test scores and regulations may not drive improvement, especially in science and math.

The University of Virginia Art Museum will hold its last Final Friday Reception of the semester on Friday. The reception runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. with "Expose Yourself: Student Body Art Show" at 6 p.m. The event features body art created with nontraditional materials by UVa students in response to works in the museum and elsewhere.
The Charlottesville Transit Service is getting ready to launch a fare-free service for University of Virginia students. A fare-free ridership program will begin Monday and last through June 2008. CTS Director Bill Watterson says this will include UVA staff and faculty, as well as students. Anyone who takes advantage of this offer would need to show a CTS driver a valid UVA photo ID card. This program does not extend to the Football Shuttle Service that operates between September and November.
