Hedge-fund owner Jaffray Wood­riff, and his wife, Merrill, today donated $120 million to the University of Virginia to launch a new school of data science. The donors are giving the money through their family fund, the Quantitative Foundation.
James Monroe's Highland and the UVA School of Architecture will host a series of public lectures as part of a class in the spring. The lectures are being put on with support from a grant from the Jefferson Trust.
