October 12, 2011 — Brick crosswalks will be installed across the end of each West Range alley along McCormick Road during the week of Oct. 17 at the University of Virginia.
Each alley will be closed for 48 hours for installation and drying time.
Colonnade Alley will be closed from 7 a.m. Monday to 7 a.m. Wednesday; Patterson Alley will be closed 7 a.m. Tuesday to 7 a.m. Thursday; Poe Alley will be closed from 7 a.m. Wednesday to 7 a.m. Friday; and Mews Alley will be closed from 7 a.m. Thursday to 7 a.m. Saturday. Alternate parking arrangements will be available for Pavilion residents while the work is taking place.
On Oct. 24, the edge of McCormick Road will be repaired, bringing asphalt to the new curb. The alleys will be open on Oct. 23 and 24, but traffic may be temporarily impeded at times. Flaggers will direct traffic.
The entire project should be completed by Oct. 24, weather permitting.
