October 7, 2008 — University of Virginia employees can find out everything they need to know about the benefits open enrollment period and other employment-related features at the annual Resource Fair, to be held Nov. 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Newcomb Hall Ballroom.
Designed for all Academic Division and Medical Center employees, the event includes a benefits open enrollment segment, seminars on specific benefits and other information sessions. A special invitation will be extended to new faculty and staff.
New this year, a variety of exhibits will focus on wellness. Refreshments will be served.
The benefits open enrollment period will run from Nov. 3 through 21.
Approximately 50 University and University-related exhibitors will be on hand, including the School of Continuing & Professional Studies, Davis Vision, Performing Arts and many more. Staff and faculty will be able to meet representatives from U.Va.'s life, health, retirement and disability vendors. Attendees will learn about enhancements to and premiums for the U.Va. Health Plan and how to get the most out of optional benefits and retirement savings, as well as how to sign up for or change certain benefits.
Employees should seek permission from their supervisor to attend. Supervisors are encouraged to accommodate their requests. Attendance at the fair is considered work time and is not charged to leave.
Attendees are strongly encouraged to take a UTS bus, carpool or walk to Newcomb Hall. Parking is limited in the Central Grounds Parking Garage and is at attendees' expense.
For benefits-related questions, call 434-924-4392. All other questions related to the fair should be directed to Tonia Duncan-Rivers, training program manager, at 434-924-4320 or e-mail at tdd3v@virginia.edu.
