By now, you’ve probably heard that for the first time, the University of Virginia will be electronically distributing tickets to Finals Weekend, set for May 17, 18 and 19.
The University will send six tickets to degree candidates electronically during the second week of May, no later than May 9, using the Virginia Athletics ticketing system, Paciolan.
The Office of Major Events and External Relations will send an email to all degree candidates’ University email accounts with instructions on how to claim their tickets.
Graduates are encouraged to download their tickets to their Apple or Google Wallets on their smartphones well in advance of the celebrations. Graduates can use this step-by-step guide to download and transfer tickets when they become available.
UVA is also offering a ticket lottery in which degree candidates may win one additional pass for their Lawn ceremony, based on ticket availability for each day. The lottery closes April 28. Winners will be notified the first week of May.
There are other changes in store for finals this year. Graduates of the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy and the School of Education and Human Development will walk the Lawn May 18 alongside graduates of the College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences, UVA’s largest school.
On Sunday, graduates from the schools of Law, Medicine, Nursing, Architecture and Continuing and Professional Studies, as well as the schools of Data Science, Engineering and Applied Science, the Darden School of Business and the McIntire School of Commerce, will process down the Lawn.
Here is a cheery picture from 2023’s Final Exercises. Parents, your 2024 Hoo will be walking the Lawn before you know it. In the meantime, zoom in and see if you can find the items listed below and then share your game results with family and friends.
