The University of Virginia men’s golf team remains the class of the Atlantic Coast Conference after winning a second consecutive ACC Tournament title on Monday in Panama City, Florida.
UVA, ranked second nationally, sealed the championship with a match-play win over Stanford University. Three Cavaliers – Ben James, Bryan Lee and Paul Chang – took their matches over their Cardinal opponents to further stamp a historic era in Virginia men’s golf.
From 1954 until 2024, the Wahoos had never won an ACC title. Last year, they ended their drought. This year, they proved it was no fluke.
“An incredible group of guys,” UVA coach Bowen Sargent said in a post-match interview.

Earlier Monday, the Hoos advanced from the semifinal round with a drama-filled win over the University of North Carolina. Junior Josh Duangmanee was the hero with a long birdie putt on the first playoff hole of his match.
