July 22, 2010 — The intersection of Whitehead and Alderman roads near the University of Virginia's Aquatic and Fitness Center will remain closed through Aug. 1 to accommodate both utility installation and the hosting of the annual Jefferson Swim League Championships at the AFC on July 30-31.

Traffic will be detoured onto Stadium and McCormick roads during the closure. Patrons will be able to access the AFC parking lots from Alderman and Whitehead roads. Sidewalks through this area will remain open for pedestrian traffic.
