Are You Chanting the Final Verse of the ‘Good Ol’ Song’ Correctly?

As a second-generation student at the University of Virginia, Anna Claire Fotopoulos had a leg up on some of her first-year classmates when it came to knowing the chant at the end of the “Good Ol’ Song.”

Or so she thought.

“It wasn’t until recently that I realized that it’s ‘Ray! Ray! UVA!’ and not ‘Hey! Hey! UVA!’” said Fotopoulos, now a fourth-year.

Today, part of Fotopoulos’ job as president of the “Hoo Crew,” the official UVA student fan group, is helping UVA students learn the somewhat tricky verse.

Here at UVA Today, we’re glad to do our part, too.

Here are the lyrics to the chant:

WAHOOWA, WAHOOWA
UNI-V, VIR-GIN-I-A
HOO-RAH-RAY, HOO-RAH-RAY
RAY! RAY! U-V-A!
