Charlottesville Police Seek Information in Death of U.Va. Alumna

Nov. 11, 2007 – Charlottesville police are seeking information in the death of a 26-year-old University of Virginia graduate.

According to a news release issued by the Charlottesville Police Department on Saturday, Jayne Warren McGowan, a 2003 U.Va. graduate, was found dead in her living room at 807 St. Clair Avenue of an apparent gunshot wound on Friday, Nov. 9.

Police found the victim’s Nissan Sentra on Sunday near Rivanna Trail in Charlottesville and was sent to the state crime lab for analysis

According to local media reports, McGowan was employed as development coordinator for AIDS/HIV Services Group in Charlottsville.
