May 10, 2007 --  On Saturday, May 12, the University of Virginia athletics department will host a fireworks display after the 6 p.m. baseball game at Davenport Field. The display will begin immediately after the game ends. The fireworks will be launched from the field at Lannigan Track and are expected to last about 10 minutes.

During the display, Copeley Road between Lannigan Track and University Hall will be closed to vehicular traffic. The U.Va. police department will coordinate the road closure.

In consideration of neighboring residents, the start time of Saturday's game was adjusted from 7 p.m. to 6 p.m. to help ensure that the fireworks display would not begin after 10 p.m. Additionally, if extra innings extend the game past 9:50 p.m., the fireworks display will be canceled.
