July 19, 2010 — Pedestrian traffic will be diverted from the front of Garrett Hall on the University of Virginia Grounds on Tuesday and Wednesday to accommodate a sewer line installation.
The sidewalk will be blocked from 7 a.m. on Tuesday until 5 p.m. on Wednesday. Pedestrians will be detoured along the upper sidewalk of the McIntire Amphitheater, using the steps in front of Minor and Garrett halls. Flagmen at the barricades will provide special accommodation to the handicapped.
Built in 1909 as the University's dining hall, Garrett Hall is undergoing extensive renovation to restore some of its historical features and install new technical systems. The building will house the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy.
