June 1, 2012 — The University of Virginia’s McCormick Road Bridge over Emmet Street will be closed for repair Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Crews will mill the bridge deck, install steel plates and pave the road surface.
Work crews will also begin installing shielding under the bridge on June 11. Emmet Street will not be closed by this work, but some shifting of lanes may occur.
The closure will have an impact on University Transit Service bus routes, with the following detours.

The Northline will continue on Emmet Street and use the ramp to turn right onto McCormick Road to resume regular route service. The Alderman Library, Snyder Tennis Court and Commerce School stops will not be served during this detour.
Northline from Hereford: From the Hereford Residential College, the Northline will travel along Hereford Drive and then detour left onto Alderman Road.
