University of Virginia doctoral student Lloyd Sy’s two-day winning streak on “Jeopardy!” ended Thursday, but he has nothing but fond memories and gratitude in his heart. Plus, some cash.

“It was still the most fun I’ve ever had in my life,” he said.

“All of my competitors were so gracious and so interesting. Patrick, the man who beat me, is really cool,” Sy said. “We actually had a really nice discussion about [UVA head basketball coach] Tony Bennett and UVA's very peculiar style of basketball play. He’s a Georgetown alum, so he knows us very well.”

Sy’s total earnings were $55,578 – not bad for a run that started with his dethroning of 13-time winner Ray Lalonde.

“It’s been an incredible few days,” Sy said.
