Our GIF to You: A UVA Giphy Library Ready for Your March Madness Celebrations

Collage of winning moments at UVA

We know University of Virginia men’s basketball coach Tony Bennett will have his team ready to play this weekend, but what are you – as a fan – doing to prepare?

Perhaps you are attending the game in Minneapolis, cheering on Bennett’s squad in person as they take on their first Final Four. Maybe you are headed to one of the many alumni watch parties around the country. Or, you might be choosing your favorite restaurant, sports bar or couch spot, ready to watch the ’Hoos in style.

Wherever you are, we’re giving you a new way to express the many emotions that come along with March Madness. Welcome to the UVA men’s basketball Giphy library.

The GIFs, collected and freely available for your use, feature some of the best moments from the season, from Mamadi Diakite dunks to Kyle Guy threes.

Use them to make someone smile.

Use them to express your elation when third-year guard Ty Jerome drains (yet another) NBA-range three, or when the 7-foot-tall Jay Huff goes up for a slam. (Or, use this UVA emoji keyboard, or a CavMan hologram, if that’s more your style.)

Share the GIFs with your friends, just to let them know you support them like the UVA bench supported this shot from second-year Charlottesville native Austin Kastra.

Give someone a virtual high-five, especially if that someone is student manager turned three-point star Grant Kersey. Kersey, a third-year student manager, electrified John Paul Jones Arena this year when he got a chance to play and drained threes after years of tireless behind-the-scenes work.

Or, sing “The Good Old Song” with all of your fellow ’Hoos, near and far. (And make sure you know all of the words.)

Wherever you are, and however you cheer, here’s hoping Tony Bennett and the guys have a few more nets to cut down this year.

Go ’Hoos!
