Photos: Final. Four. Bound.

The ‘Hoos are going to the Final Four.

Coach Tony Bennett’s squad wrote their way into University of Virginia history on Saturday night with an overtime thriller against Purdue University, winning 80-75.

The game had a little bit of everything – an incredibly clutch last-second shot by Mamadi Diakite, a classic three-point battle between resurgent UVA guard Kyle Guy and Purdue star Carsen Edwards, and of course, UVA’s signature stingy defense.

At the end of it all, the ‘Hoos were the ones cutting down the nets in Louisville, to the delight of the team and Cavalier fans around the world.

This will be UVA’s third Final Four; the first since 1984 and the first for Bennett. The team will play on Saturday, facing Auburn University.

In the meantime – once you’ve caught your breath and your heart rate has calmed – enjoy these photos from the historic night and special welcome back to Charlottesville the next day
